Archive material, remastered
Archival footage and older film transfers are the closest analogue to most corporate shelves. Each clip runs the original and the 4K result side by side, labelled with the work applied.

What's usually on the shelf
The tapes nobody can play any more
Almost every organization past its twentieth birthday has some version of this cupboard.
Formats without a deck
Betacam, DigiBeta, U-matic, DVCAM. The footage is fine; the machine that reads it left the building years ago.
Irreplaceable interviews
Founders, long-serving staff, and early customers — people who have since retired, moved on, or passed away. This material cannot be reshot at any budget.
4:3 in a 16:9 world
Early advertising and brand films were framed for square screens. Getting them onto modern channels takes deliberate treatment, not a stretch.
An obvious quality drop
Archive footage cut against today's 4K material looks like a mistake rather than a choice. That visible seam is why most heritage ideas quietly get dropped.
Faded titles and logos
Old title cards, wordmarks, and lower thirds are soft, dated, or off-brand after a rebrand — but often reconstructable.
No documentation
Unlabeled masters, no logs, no idea what's on which tape. Finding out what you actually own is step one.
Why it pays
Heritage is the one asset competitors can't buy
Anyone can outspend you on production. Nobody else has your first thirty years on tape.
Milestone campaigns
Anniversaries, rebrands, founder retirements, funding announcements, and IPOs all want archive footage — and all need it to hold up next to contemporary material.
Footage you cannot recreate
A factory that has since closed, a product line long discontinued, a founder at thirty. Remastering is the only route to a usable modern version.
It cuts with new footage
Shot matching brings archive material close enough to modern 4K that an editor can intercut the two without the join announcing itself.
One remaster, many uses
The same masters feed campaigns, lobby and showroom displays, investor decks, recruiting films, onboarding, and the museum wall. The cost is spread across all of it.

Questions
The things people ask first
Our footage is 4:3. What happens on a widescreen channel?
There are two honest options and we'll show you both in the sample. Either keep the original framing and design the side panels so it reads as deliberate, or crop into the frame where the composition allows it. What we won't do is stretch faces to fill the width.
Can it really cut against footage we shot this year?
Close enough that the edit doesn't fight you, which is the practical bar. Shot matching aligns color, contrast, and grain character so archive and modern material sit in the same world. It won't become 4K-native, and the sample will show you exactly where the line falls.
Nobody here knows what's actually on these tapes.
That's normal, and it's a reason to start rather than wait. Send us whatever plays and we'll tell you what you're holding, what condition it's in, and what it would take to make it usable.
Can you rebuild our old logo and title cards?
Often, yes. Title reconstruction is part of the Premium tier — old wordmarks and lower thirds can be rebuilt cleanly, or replaced with current brand assets if you'd rather the archive carry today's identity.
We have hundreds of tapes and no budget to do them all.
Nobody starts with all of them. Pick the ten minutes a campaign actually needs, prove the result, and expand from there once there's something to show internally.
Can you work with our agency or post house?
Yes. We can deliver editorial-ready masters in whatever codec and structure your post team works in, and stay out of the creative entirely if that's the cleaner arrangement.
Prove it on thirty seconds
Pick the piece of archive footage you most wish you could use, and send us half a minute of it. We'll remaster it to 4K for free — internal buy-in is a great deal easier with something to show.
